About The Role

Role: Visitor Services Assistant 
Location: Astley Hall (with occasional working across South Ribble)
ContractPart Time (14.5 hours per week) / Permanent
Salary: £25,992 - £26,409 (pro rata)
Closing Date: 1 June 2025

We are looking for a customer focused Visitor Services Assistant to work within our museum service. You will primarily work at Astley Hall, providing excellent customer service to those visiting the hall and enhancing the visitor experience. You will carry out a duty management role two days per week (on a rota) overseeing the front of house casual staff, working as a team to provide a great day out for our visitors. 

What you’ll be getting up to
  • Duty managing Astley Hall two days per week
  • Chatting to customers, answering enquiries on the phone and on email and carrying out guided tours
  • Supporting the wider team with administrative and customer support duties
  • Providing excellent customer service .

  • Someone with a passion for culture and heritage
  • An excellent communicator with great customer service skills
  • Someone with a desire to tell the story of Astley Hall and the collection to our visitors 
  • A team player 
Other requirements
  • This role requires weekend working. Working days will be two days per week across Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday (on a rota).
