About The Role

Role: Level 2 Swimming Teacher
Location: All Seasons Leisure Centre and Brinscall Swimming Pool
Contract: Part Time (Up to 15 hours per week) / Permanent
Salary£17.82 per hour

We’re looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Level 2 Swimming Teacher to join our team and help people of all ages build confidence, skills and enjoyment in the water. Working within Swim England’s Learn to Swim framework, you’ll play a vital role in creating safe, fun and high‑quality swimming lessons for both our Learn to Swim programme and Key Stage 1 & 2 school sessions.

You will possess either a Swim England (SE) Level 2 Swimming Assistant (Teaching) or Swimming Teachers Association (STA) Level 2 Award in Teaching Swimming.
 What you’ll be getting up to

As a Swim Teacher, you will:

  •  As an ambassador for Chorley Leisure Ltd, you will be delivering engaging swimming lessons aligned with the Swim England Learn to Swim criteria and National Curriculum requirements for Key Stage 1 & 2.
  •  Teach pupils of all ages and abilities, adapting your approach to meet individual learning needs, including those with special educational needs or disabilities.
  •  Plan, prepare and deliver structured, progressive lesson plans across a range of ability groups.
  •  Assess each swimmer’s progress, providing constructive feedback and encouraging development.
  •  You’ll be a role model and ambassador for all swimmers whilst ensuring they receive quality swimming lessons and have a positive experience.

Who we’re looking for:

You’ll be an engaging, confident and adaptable swim teacher who is passionate about helping people learn and succeed in the water. You’ll bring:

  •  Experience delivering swimming lessons to a range of ages and abilities.
  •  The ability to communicate clearly and demonstrate correct swimming techniques.
  •  A positive, supportive and patient teaching style.
  •  Strong organisational skills, with the ability to plan lessons and track progress effectively.
  •  A commitment to maintaining safety, safeguarding and high teaching standards.
Other requirements
Successful applicants will be subject to a DBS check (applied and paid for by the Council).
