Do you want to play a key role in helping local community projects thrive and ensuring vital funding reaches the people who need it most? This is your chance to make a positive impact in South Ribble by joining our Community Development team. As Community Grants Administrator, you’ll be at the heart of our team helping to strengthen communities. From projects which address social isolation to initiatives which improve community spaces, you’ll make sure grant funding is administered smoothly and effectively, helping local groups deliver real change.

What you’ll be getting up to
  • Undertaking administrative tasks to ensure effective grant management, this will include, writing letters, completing grant agreement templates, emailing external partners, inputting data and minuting meetings.
  • Raising purchase orders and processing invoices.
  • Communicating clearly and professionally with internal and external partners through email, on the phone and in person.
  • Collating and inputting data required and maintaining departmental records, ensuring they are accurate and up to date.
Who we’re looking for
  •  Organised and detail‑focused – you’ll have solid numeracy, literacy and IT skills, with the ability to keep information accurate and efficient.
  • Proven admin experience – whether it’s processing invoices, drafting letters, or inputting data, you know how to carry out key administration tasks effectively.

  • Tech‑savvy and adaptable – confident using Microsoft Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel and financial systems, and keen to learn how to use new IT systems when needed.

  • Great with people – you can provide excellent customer service, deal with a wide range of queries, and work well as part of a supportive team.

  • Strong communicator – able to share information clearly with colleagues, community groups and partners, both in writing and face‑to‑face.

  • Calm under pressure – you can juggle priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently when required, all while keeping a positive attitude.

Other requirements
  • Successful applicants will be subject to a DBS check (applied and paid for by the Council).
