About The Role

Role: Partnerships and Policy Officer 
Location: Chorley and Leyland
ContractFull time (36.25 hours per week) / Permanent

The local government landscape is evolving and we're looking for an individual to coordinate and implement a structured approach to strategic partnership working across the councils, bringing together key stakeholders to work collaboratively in addressing key challenges, creating opportunities and delivering better outcomes for communities.

As part of shared services between Chorley and South Ribble, you will be at the heart of the organisation where your role will involve facilitating and creating the conditions for meaningful collaboration across our partner organisations. You will ensure that we have a dynamic and effective network of strategic partnerships with shared priorities and collective ownership of delivering change.

Your role will include supporting the Chorley and South Ribble Partnership in driving forward delivery of its new and ambitious boroughwide strategy, working across both Councils’ and partners to help build and manage relationships through the development of collaborative initiatives and projects.

What you’ll be getting up to

  • Contributing to the development of partnership plans, strategies, policies and briefings, helping to ensure an evidence-based response to borough challenges.
  • Undertaking research and analysis of data, policy, legislation and emerging trends to help guide discussions on policy issues.
  • Leading and contributing to external funding bids.
  • Working on specific initiatives and projects, managing multi-disciplinary and multi-partner teams.
  • Supporting the Chorley and South Ribble Partnership through effective governance structures, undertaking performance monitoring and by continually seeking to identify opportunities to improve strategic partnership working.

Other requirements
  • This role requires some travel around our boroughs. You should have a valid driving licence or the equivalent mobility.
